Purple Line Community Meeting
The Purple Line is a 21-station, 16-mile light rail project that will provide a missing east-west transit link through the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C. It will connect travelers to Metro’s Red, Green, and Orange lines, as well as MARC, Amtrak and numerous bus lines. This light rail system will run on Wayne Avenue into downtown Silver Spring and points west.
Please join us at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 4th in the gymnasium of the Sligo Creek Elementary School for a presentation on the Purple Line. In addition to a general overview of the project, this presentation will address the Transit Power Substation that will reside on our school grounds, how this facility will be designed and managed, and the required easement.
Representatives from the Purple Line Transit Partners, the Maryland Transit Authority, Montgomery County government and MCPS will be on hand on to answer all of our questions.
