The PTA has open positions for the 2021-2022 school year, please see the list here. We have a wonderful and vibrant parent community at Sligo Creek Elementary School and we invite ALL parents to be apart of it. It takes many volunteers to make all of our programs and activities possible. We encourage parents to participate and help where you are able. If you aren’t sure what role fits you but are willing to lend any of your time and talent, please reach-out, the entire community benefits - kids, teachers, parents and the school. Please consider helping with one of these opportunities. The PTA leadership team will share information from previous years, budget allocation, and help get you started.

MCPS ONLINE TRAINING

Anyone who would like to volunteer at the school in any capacity that puts in your direct contact with students (e.g., field trips, recess/lunch, in-classroom help) must complete the MCPS volunteer training on child abuse and neglect. 

The training is now completed through ParentVUE:

Click on the "Parent Resources" tab, then "myMCPS Classroom."

In "myMCPS Classroom," the training can be accessed under the Resources tab, Volunteer Training.

Finding it will be a true test of your commitment to volunteering (it's maddeningly complicated), but here’s a help document with some useful images on pages 2-3:
