Notes from the Front Office

3/4/2020 10:59 am

Please, keep your child at home when your child is sick. This not only benefits your child but also other children and staff.

Some important signs of illness are:

  • Temperature of more than 100F orally (Per CDC, "individuals should stay home until at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever, without the use of fever-reducing medicine")
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Stomachache
  • Diarrhea
  • Pale or flushed face
  • Headache
  • Persistent cough
  • Earache
  • Thick yellowish discharge from nose
  • Sore throat
  • Rash or infection of the skin
  • Red or pink eyes
  • Loss of energy or decrease in activity

These guidelines are set by the Montgomery County Department of Health and MCPS. Please make necessary arrangements about who can come pick your child up when he/she is sick in order to receive proper care and maintain a safe environment at school.

The best way to prevent illness is through proper hand washing. Here is a fun video from the CDC with instructions for hand washing.
