World Culture Day - March 25 - Call for Presenters

Sligo Creek Elementary School (SCES) will celebrate World Culture Day (WCD) on Friday, March 25! We are looking for volunteers to share photos, music, dance, art, language, and other cool things about your country and culture. WCD will be held during school hours either in the Outdoor Classroom or, in the event of rain, in the school foyer area.

SCES Arrival/Dismissal Pattern for Cars
-- Reminder not to Use Greenwich Lane to Approach the School--
Given the bus driver shortage that has impacted our bus routes, we have many new car riders. For those who don't normally pick up or drop off your students in the car circle, it might be useful to take a quick look at the route.
When arriving by car to drop off or pick up your child(ren) in the Car Circle, please use the following pattern:

SCES staff each received a fall-themed bottle of foaming hand soap with a tag reading "Thankful for the hands that help us learn" as a small token of our appreciation.
Please let them know how thankful you are if you get the chance! We're fortunate to have such dedicated, kind, compassionate staff at our school, from our cafeteria staff to our building staff to our administrators and educators.

Salamander Stride WINNERS!

ALL OF US!
Thank you, thank you, thank you to the parents, caregivers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who gave to the Salamander Stride in October.
Thanks to your generosity, we can continue to host the events that contribute toward making our school so special (GeoBowl, World Culture Day, Back-to-School night, Science and Arts assemblies), support families in need, and shower our teachers with mini-grants and many forms of appreciation.
"Kids Helping Kids" Food Drive

SCES PTA is organizing the Kids Helping Kids Food Drive at our school to benefit Manna.
Starting now, please send in food donations. Collection boxes will be placed at the KidsCo Front Door Entrance and in the front of the Main Office.
Fall Festival 2021

Our annual Fall Festival will take place on Friday, Oct 29th beginning at 2:15p. Students will participate in an outdoor parade beginning at the breezeway and continuing around the car circle while wearing the curriculum-related costumes made in class.
Families are welcome to join in the fun cheering and waving to students while on their parade route.
