Welcome to SCES Interim Principal Ms. Nesmith

Dear Sligo Creek community,
The Sligo Creek Elementary School (SCES) PTA extends a warm welcome to Ms. Stephanie Nesmith, who will be joining SCES as interim principal for the 2021–2022 school year. (For those who have not yet heard the news, her introduction letter is here.) We look forward to facilitating opportunities for our community to meet and welcome Ms. Nesmith in the coming days and weeks and are eager to begin a strong partnership between her, our teachers and staff, and our students and families. Please watch for upcoming communications from the PTA board and from Ms. Nesmith directly as we continue preparations for the fall return to school.
We also want to thank Ms. Brown and all of our current staff, teachers, and administrators as they work to ensure a smooth and graceful leadership transition this month. We have an amazing team already in place at Sligo Creek, and we hope to support them in every way possible. Thanks to Mr. Rand for his two years of service to our community. We wish him well as he moves on to a position within the Washington County Public School District. (A letter from Jennifer Webster detailing the transition is here.)
Our strong community of educators, parents, caregivers, students, and staff at SCES has an incredible opportunity to move ahead in positive directions this year. We are excited to build meaningful relationships, support our students in a full return to school, encourage our teachers and staff, and care for our families. Good things are ahead! We hope that you will join us in welcoming Ms. Nesmith and working together to build the kind of school community we all want to see.
