New MCPS Proposal

MCPS is considering re-opening Parkside ES and doing an addition to Highland View to permanently move all of SCES to one of those sites. The existing SCES facility would then be become part of SSIMS.

The PTA board met with Mr. Rand on Friday about this. There are very few details at this point. He will be meeting with MCPS on Monday and we can expect a full update on Tuesday at the PTA meeting.
MCPS is holding a hearing March 5th to hear from the community about this plan. Our MCCPTA Cluster Coordinator will be there to testify on behalf of the Northwood Cluster, and highly encourages parents to disseminate this information and ask them to sign up to testify at this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1wZA2D-Vg1EkKbQRAwRg6Oz_x1G8hhoXuDtzmKgiBj-M/viewform?edit_requested=true. The form is open so those interested should sign up as soon as possible.
