You Can be a Recess Hero

Can you give an hour or two that can help your child’s lunchtime or recess be a fulfilling experience? SCES needs lunch and recess volunteers every day. You can volunteer for as little as an hour. Lunch starts at 10:45 and ends at 2:15 daily.  

Volunteers are needed the most on inclement weather days when the kids have indoor recess.

It’s easy to volunteer.

1. Complete the MCPS volunteer training on child abuse and neglect.  This is a thirty minute video with questions. It can be done at home on your computer, notebook or phone. 2. Contact Tamea Stover and Vanessa Terry by emailing Tamea_P_Stover@mcpsmd.org and Vanessa_L_Terry@mcpsmd.org or calling the main office at 240-740-2800. You can make arrangements to volunteer any time up until 9:30 am the day of.

Grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles and friends are welcome to volunteer as long as the volunteer training has been completed.
