Dear Fellow Sligo Creek Families,
Congratulations to our students, teachers, administrators and parents as we sprint toward the end of another school year. Thank you to our PTA board for their effort to make this year so successful. Finally, without the support from you, our parents, we wouldn’t be able to give back to our students and teachers, the way we do, so THANK YOU!
Leading the PTA over the past two years has been a privilege and quite a journey, and we look forward to supporting our incoming president, Deborah Guinnessy (mom of Ana, Grade 2). Also joining the Board is:
- Todd Cimo as Treasurer (Genevieve & Juliette, Grade 2)
- Sean Bruce, VP Communications (Sophie, Grade 2 & Charlize, K)
- Yaye Diop as VP Academics (Moudjibou, Grade 3).
We’d also like to welcome back Andreas Smith as Secretary (Aurelia, Grade 4).
Thank you all for stepping up to serve the SCES community!
At the final PTA meeting Deborah was nothing short of heroic in stepping up alone as president as we discussed what the outlook was for our PTA without one (hint: you can’t operate a PTA without a President). Please strongly consider joining her as Executive Vice President as this year’s Board continues to build on past successes and continues to support our amazing teachers and staff members with all that they do for our children. We are also looking for a VP of Events/Fundraising who would work with our Room Parent Coordinators to help match potential volunteers with their interests.
Check out the job descriptions and volunteer opportunities and see where your talents can help our community! Thanks for your support the last two years and please consider how you can support the PTA next year.
We hope that you have a wonderful summer!
All the best,
Jen & Bridget SCES
