Dear Sligo Creek Family,
It is an honor and privilege to be named the next Principal of Sligo Creek Elementary School. I am looking forward to being a part of this community and working together to ensure our students have the best possible experience at Sligo Creek. I am looking forward to getting to know you and will be sharing opportunities soon for us to meet in person.
I am a proud graduate from Montgomery County Public Schools. I grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, and attended Glenallen Elementary School, E. Brook Lee Middle School, and Kennedy High School. The Catholic University of America is where I received my undergraduate degree, going on to Hood College to complete my Master’s degree in Educational Administration. I currently reside in Frederick, Maryland, with my wife of fifteen years, Elsa Rand, and our two children, Arabella and Gary.
During my educational career, I have been fortunate enough to teach children in grades 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 10. I have also had the privilege of serving as an assistant principal, dean of students, and principal before making my transition to MCPS. For the past three years, I have been working as the assistant principal at Lake Seneca Elementary School.
I could not be happier or more excited to begin my journey at Sligo Creek, a school with a rich history, a dedicated staff, and committed parents. I hope to continue to the tradition of academic excellence, positive school climate, and effective relationship building throughout the upcoming school year. I would like to celebrate our past as we plan for a bright and successful future!
