The PTA Needs You!

Many PTA Board positions are open for next year. Executive board positions have term limits, so new members are needed for our robust SCES PTA to continue. You don’t have to do it all, and there are plenty of returning members to guide you, and the outgoing volunteers are usually available to support your transition into the role as well!

The PTA organizes the in-house Salamander Stride as our one fundraiser a year, keeping 100% of the profits!

Indoor recess games, outside soccer balls, affordable field trips, room parent coordination, T-shirts, safety signage, after-school activities, teacher appreciation, student advocacy, representation in the wider MCCPTA community…all happen because Sligo Creek has a PTA!

STAFF & TEACHERS GIFT FUND COLLECTION

Wondering how to honor all those wonderful staff members that interact with your child on a daily basis this holiday season? To have maximum impact, the PTA has the perfect idea: contribute to the Staff Gift Fund!

The Staff Gift Fund buys gifts that individuals (or even entire classrooms) could not afford. Each year, we collect approximately $4,000.00- $5,000.00, which provides every single teacher and staff member with a personal gift and a significant contribution to the staff Holiday Party.

The Staff Gift Fund shares the wealth across the entire school. Teachers, administrators, specials instructors, school nurses, para-educators, and cafeteria and building maintenance staff who ALL do a lot for our children day in and day out are recognized.

How do you contribute? Two ways. (1): Contribute to the STAFF GIFT FUND on the PTA homepage, or (2): Make a check payable to the SCESPTA and send it in with your child. Please be sure to label the envelope PTA Staff Gift Fund.

When do you contribute? Now! As you are buying gifts and giving tax deductible contributions, don't forget our wonderful teachers and staff. Every little bit helps, and we are grateful for your participation!
