The final PTA meeting of the 2023-24 school year wrapped up on June 4th with a heartfelt thank you and farewell to our wonderful Principle, Ms. Nesmith as she prepares to launch on her next adventure at Briggs Chaney Middle School.

With change comes renewal. So many things to look forward to this upcoming school year, a new principal and a new PTA board! So much opportunity for growth and change. At the meeting, all board and committee members were voted in for the 2024-2025 school year.

Brenna, our tireless PTA President and champion volunteer and cheerleader for SCES, we are so grateful for all of your service and dedication to our school community. With deepest gratitude, THANK YOU for it all!

Dara, Tony, Vero, Amanda, and John—you’ve each been an important thread weaving together the fabric of SCES! We are so appreciative of all the work that you have put in to so many activities and creative effort to make this school a welcoming, joyful and exciting place for the SCES community and our students! The 2024 Book share went off without a hitch from June 5-7th! 

All students got to pick out a few of their favorite books at the book share and take them home to enjoy! How lucky are we at SCES to be able to do that. 

We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Carrie Callaghan, PTA book share chair extraordinaire, for leading the charge on the book share once again! Thank you and all the volunteers for organizing and distributing hundreds of books for our SCES students to enjoy. The students were thrilled!

On June 7th, the 4th and 5th grade chorus participated in the Hershey Park Music Festival for a choir competition and some fun at Hershey park!

Our Salamander Choir was outstanding and sounded spectacular during their chorus performance. Their hard work and dedication paid off. They competed so well that they received the First Place Superior Rating Treble Choir Award AND won the Outstanding Behavior Award entitled: Esprit de Corps Award for the Fourth Time! The Esprit de Corps Award is only presented to one ensemble. For this prized trophy, The Sligo Creek ES Chorus competed with several middle school and high schools for this prestigious award. Their behavior was pristine. The judges and on-site coordinators spoke so highly of our students and were extremely impressed. A Huge THANK YOU andCONGRATULATIONS to our beloved Ms. Hochkeppel who is the engine and inspiration behind all of this!

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful chaperone's who made this all possible! We couldn't have done it without you!

Congratulations to our newly rising 6th graders.  We wish you well as you enter middle school!
