Our final PTA meeting of the 2023-24 School Year is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4 in the Media Center at SCES. Ms. Nesmith will join us, so this is a great opportunity to wish her well as she prepares for her next adventure at Briggs Chaney Middle School if you'd like to do so in-person. We'll present flowers and a card, so come a bit early if you'd like a chance to sign the card.

Let's celebrate these members of the community who have stepped up to fill some important PTA roles in recent weeks:

• Wellness Committee Chair: Jennifer Meyer (Jennifer would love a co-chair! If you have concerns about the state of the soccer field or recess in general, this is the committee for you.) 

Additionally, we'll discuss a budget to get us to the 2024 Salamander Stride in October, and ways that the PTA can support SCES as we welcome a new principal in the fall. 

It's Book Share time again! That's the time of year when we send 2 or 3 or more books home with every single student in Sligo Creek Elementary. How lucky are we at SCES to be able to do that.  Carrie Callaghan has been collecting books all year (thank you!!), and now it's time to get those books set up and into the hands of our students.

Set-up is Tuesday evening, June 4 from 6-8pm. Older students can receive SSL hours. This is about the same time as our PTA meeting so if you are attending that meeting have a middle or HS student, bring them along to help with set up!  Please come before the PTA meeting at 6pm to help as well.  To volunteer please Sign Up Here.

The Book Share itself will be June 5-7.  If you have some time during the day, volunteers are appreciated.

We are happy to continue to take book donations, either at school, in the box by the foot of the stairs, or on Carrie's porch; contact her for the address. No religious books, including books about Christmas or other holidays please! Her email is carecalla@gmail.com.
