We need to vote on the budget that was presented for review and approval during the PTA meeting last Tuesday. 

Free State PTA now allows for virtual voting! Please join us for a very quick (should take no more than 5 minutes!) follow-up vote on Wednesday, October 13 at 6:45 pm.  

We need a quorum of 10 members to join. For your vote to count, you must be a current, dues-paying member of the PTA and register ahead of the Zoom meeting. Please use this link to register (also pasted below).

What is the Salamander Stride?

It’s a Fun Run for the whole school and a fundraiser for the PTA. The Stride is a non-competitive event that encourages physical activity and aligns with the school’s purpose of educating and celebrating the kids. It is also a great community event for students, teachers, and administrators—and, of course, parents, guardians, and family members who are able to support our students.

How can I help?

Families can help by pledging their support and ask their relatives, neighbors, and friends to do the same. Due to COVID precautions, parents/guardians may watch/cheer from the stands unless they are signed up to volunteer.

How can I make a pledge?

It’s easy to set up a pledge page or make a donation through the PTA website, just look for a link under FORMS to set up your child's page (and remember to update their grade/join the PTA while you are there). You can also record cash/check donations made out to SCES PTA.

Our SCES Reading Teacher is in search of a motivated, crafty volunteer who would be willing to create an intervention kit (or 2?) for Sligo Creek teachers.

This project requires some intensive material prep (several hours’ worth) and organizational skills. It would involve color printing sets of picture cards for lessons – must have a color printer and be willing to print – and then cutting and organizing them in envelopes and folders at home (possibly laminating at school).

Mrs. Miller will provide all supplies (except printer ink) and instructions. Can job share and sign up just to print, cut/laminate, or organize etc.
