SCES PTA is organizing the Kids Helping Kids Food Drive at our school to benefit Manna.

Starting now, please send in food donations. Collection boxes will be placed at the KidsCo Front Door Entrance and in the front of the Main Office.

Manna’s most-needed items are listed below:

  • Proteins – canned tuna, chicken, and salmon in water; natural nut butters; dry or low-sodium canned beans
  • Fruits and Veggies – Canned fruit in juice; fruit cups; low-sodium canned vegetables
  • Other Healthy Options – Shelf-stable individual boxed milk; instant formula and baby food; cooking oils and spices

ELA Enrichment in MCPS Elementary Schools

Thursday, Nov. 11 from 7-8 PM

MCCPTA Gifted Education Committee presentation

"ELA Enrichment in MCPS Elementary Schools: Understanding the Differences Between CES, ELC and Enrichment Guidance to Benchmark Advance"

The GEC invites all MCPS caregivers to join us for a discussion on the different English Language Arts (ELA) curricula MCPS uses for highly able learners in Elementary Schools.  We'll present an overview of the curriculum used in the Centers for Enriched Studies (CES), the Enriched Literacy Curriculum (ELC), and the Supplemental Enrichment Guidance to Benchmark Advance curriculum.

We'll compare and contrast the curricula, and discuss how you can partner with your child's school to meet your child’s needs.

The presentation will NOT be recorded. Registration in advance:
