School Photo Day: Sept. 30

To answer a few questions we've heard about picture day at school:

  • Photographers are required to be vaccinated.
  • They will photograph one class at a time, one student at a time; safely distanced across several locations with several photographers, all wearing PPE. 
  • Photos will be taken near the main office, at the bottom of the grand staircase, and outside of the media center--three inside locations. Building services has been asked to mark the floor where students should stand so that they aren't too close to one another while the photos are being taken.
  • Classic Photography also mentioned that students are welcome to leave their masks on for photos if parents would prefer.
  • Nov. 1 is the photo make-up day for individual portraits. There is also a date scheduled this spring (April 22) but unfortunately that date is too late for your student's photo to be used in the yearbook.

You All are Rocking the Staff Lounge Stocking

Thank you so much for the amazing response to our call for snacks & drinks for the Staff Lounge. We appreciate it so much!

We're making some adjustments as we figure out how things work best. We now would PREFER that you drop goods off at Katie's house prior to your scheduled Monday (or before 9 AM that day).  This will make things a bit easier for us.  

School drop-off is still OK if that's better for you. Having items delivered to Katie's house is also OK. After you sign up, please contact Katie at katevdk@gmail.com or 240-676-2543 for her address.

We're also seeking some Classical music CDs for the Lounge. If you have any to donate, please let us know!

Therapist Recommendations

This pandemic has really taken a toll on our mental health. Families are reaching out to Ms. Hegerich, our school counselor, requesting therapist recommendations.

If you've had a good experience with a couselor/therapist for your child, please share that recommendation with Ms. Hegerich (who will keep anything she receives confidential) so that she can compile a list of resources for the many families seeking mental health care.
