PTA provided staff lunch.

Send love to our specials teachers: take a photo doing art, music, athletics and email it to SCES specials teachers.

Help us restock the staff lounge with some delicious treats. Drop off at the car circle Thursday morning at 9 AM. There will be a cart in front of the building.

We're working on a memory book for our 5th grade SCES students. We'd love to share a photo of every student on their class page. To do that, we need a portrait from you!  

The portraits don't need to be fancy or professional, just a decently up-close photo of your student taken within the past year. Phone pics are fine! Even a decent selfie would do.

The GeoBowl is a Sligo Creek tradition where teams of 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^th graders compete on their geographic knowledge. If your child is interested in participating in GeoBowl 2021, please fill out this survey. The scaled-down event will run in English only, and will focus on one continent vs. the typical two. Once we determine if there is sufficient interest, we'll provide study packets to participants (digital; hard copy upon request) and assign teams across each grade level.

GeoBowl 2021 Organizers 

World Culture Day will take place via Zoom on Friday, June 4th from 2:00-2:45 PM.

We need volunteers to make this happen!  

Our ambassadors (you!) will bring different countries and cultures into the Zoom classroom to share 5-10 minute long presentations.  

Think about activities such as: 

• Teaching a simple dance;  
• Helping students learn a few words in a new language;  
• Cooking a simple, traditional dish and sharing the recipe;  
• Leading a coloring activity of the country’s flag or map;  
• Sharing music or artwork;  
• Focusing on an interesting geographic element;  
• Discussing the animal or plant life unique to your region. 

This should be fun for volunteers and students alike!
