Thank you for Supporting SCES Students and Families

SCES community, THANK YOU.

Your donations covered our school community's immediate need for coats, hats, scarves and gloves as the temperature drops. You also gave grocery gift cards to everyone who expressed interest going into the holiday break. The first round of collections this year met many needs, and for that we're so grateful.

The challenges faced by those who are unemployed or underemployed due to Covid and social inequities will not disappear over winter break. If you're able to donate to assist families at our school, please do so at any time. We'll keep you posted as to when we plan to make the next round of distributions.

The PTA is a registered 501c3 and donations are tax-deductible. Many corporations will match donations.

Family Needs Survey

Please fill out the survey below indicating any items your children need right now.

Your responses will be kept 100% confidential and will go straight to Ms. Hegerich, our School Counselor.

This survey will remain open as long as needed.

Help GeoBowl & World Culture Day Happen!

A 4th grade parent whose student LOVED participating in the GeoBowl last year has stepped up to help plan the 2021 virtual event.

If you want to ensure that the GeoBowl happens, please contact Jennifer (events@scespta.org) or Brenna (communications@scespta.org) and we'll put you in touch with our 2021 lead volunteer. We could use your creative thinking to brainstorm what GeoBowl might look like this year--particularly if you have expertise with technology that could work for a quiz show format. With your support, we can make this happen!

We're still looking for someone to lead our Teacher Appreciation Committee's efforts and to help plan a virtual World Culture Day as well. We have a potential lead on World Culture Day, but one volunteer can't do this alone. If you can help, please let us know.

Interested? Contact events@scespta.org or communications@scespta.org.

2nd Place- First Grade (Mme Anderson)

3rd- Fourth Grade (Mme Ekani-Raze)

4th- Third Grade (Mme Buche)

5th- Second Grade (Mme Keundjou)

6th- Fifth Grade (Miss June)

We raised $16,754, which funds core PTA programs such as academic support for our teachers (through reimbursement for their supplies and professional development); special educational events; and community events. While we fell short of our fundraising goal, we're still hoping to make some exciting events happen in the new year (GeoBowl, a virtual Mad Science Assembly, and a virtual World Culture Day to start!).

A big thanks to everyone who participated in the 2020 Salamander Stride.
